McQueen became associated with Triumph in the 1960s. But when the lightweight, powerful and nimble Swedish-made Husqvarna was introduced to America in 1970, it quickly became McQueen’s preferred mount. Subsequently, it was this marque of motorcycle McQueen rode on numerous, highly publicized occasions. Bonhams is to offer for sale the genuine 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross owned and ridden by the Hollywood icon, together with a large number of documents supporting its provenance and authenticity. The McQueen Husqvarna joins an impressive lineup of machines already consigned for the sale, including the original condition 1902 Rambler from the Indian Motorcycle Museum and a quartet of BMW racing motorcycles that features the rare and desirable Kompressor.
